Heavy Elements In The Sea?

It looks like there may be a full scale melt down happening at Fukushima. If heavy radioactive elements such as Plutonium get into the ground water and are subsequently washed into the sea, will they end up at the lowest level like the mariana trench or will they continue to travel in ocean currents around the globe?
