My cat always wants to snuggle with me. What do I do?

I have a kitten, just got her last month, and she seems to always like snuggling with me. Like when i'm about to sleep, she climbs up my bed and begs for a hug or something. She just keeps following me around the house and every time i sit down she would always climb up my lap. Why is my kitty like this? Is it normal? Thanks.
